Should I Forge Our Apartment Lease To Get The Gas Turned Back On?
The lease holder of our apartment hasn’t paid the gas bill, and the gas has been shut off, which means no hot water, heat or stove. She does not live here anymore, nor is she in the area. The gas company won’t let us put a new gas bill in another name without lease in our names. The landlord is not very accessible and is on an extended vacation so we have no way to get a new lease anytime soon. I’m tired of taking cold showers.
Forging something might backfire on you – do you want a criminal record?
Have you tried paying the bill even though it’s in the lease holder’s name? If they won’t let you do that, are you able to contact the leaseholder to get them to give written permission for you to pay the bill.
I very much doubt you have much legal rights in regard to this, with your name not being on the lease you are not legally entitled to living there unless permission was given by the owner.
Do you have a phone number for the lease holder or the landlord? Have you explained the situation to the gas company? It seems to me that there must be something you could do other than forgery. You do not want something like that to back fire on you. Could you shower at a friends house?
Call the police and get a court order to get the gas turned back on. This is not an approved way of living. There must be some way to get back against the landlord.
Do what you gotta do, dude!
join a gym and shower there….
dont ruin your life over a forged legal document.
