Since they are offering you the renewal, you have a little bit of an upper hand so to speak because frankly, they want you to stay PLUS it is a total renters market... rental prices have been falling as well as vacancy rates. You may not be privy to this going on in the property management world, but we all are! It will cost more for them to have you move even if they could boost the rent rate with a new tenant... turnover costs, number of days vacant,etc... it just doesn't make financial sense in this market.

The best option is to go in there if possible (in person), let them know that your one roommate is leaving but that you have a replacement and you would like to renew the current offer with the new roommate. And, they will have to put the new tenant on the lease anyway, and if they were smart would have her fill out an app so they could run the credit on this new person.

Good luck!

i would talk to the leasing office about it. they are all different but they would most likely, b/c two of the girls are staying, they would keep at the renewal rate. just explain everything to them and see what your best option would be.

If all 3 were on the lease, the new one must sign in place of the one leaving. Discuss it with management before too close to re-new date.
