Is It Possible To Get Out Of An Apartment Lease In Nj If It Is With In The First 30 Days?
I moved into my apartment about 3 weeks ago and have since come across bugs. Specifically roaches, beetles and centipedes. I am terrified of bugs and want to move out. I am just curious what the laws are in NJ concerning breaking a lease within the first 30 days.
approach your landlord and ask him to relist the apt. for rent.
In the meantime ask to fumigate it.
Look no further!

Moving out because of bad conditions
If your landlord refuses to make needed repairs to your apartment, you can move out before the lease ends and still not be held responsible for rent for the time left on the lease. It is important to have proof of the bad conditions. You can show proof by having a building inspection done and taking pictures before you move out. In this situation, the law holds the landlord responsible for breaking the lease by failing to fulfill his or her duty to provide you with safe and decent housing. This is called constructive eviction. Please read Chapter 6, Your Right to Safe and Decent Housing, for an explanation of a landlord’s duty to maintain housing in good condition.
Pay attention, too, to notice requirements regarding your obligation to notify landlord you’ll be vacating.
I just rented an apt last month, We signed a years Lease. Gave a $1237.00 deposit. My Fiancee’s Unemployment bennefits have stopped (waiting for the Extension??) I lost my Job, and I am in the process of applying for disability. Can I LEGALLY get out of my Lease and NOT lose my deposit?
