Do You Have To Sign An Apartment Lease In Person?
This is a strange question but my fiance and I are getting an apartment together…. Problem is, we’re getting it in his hometown. I wont be able to be there until 2 months. He needs an apartment now. We plan to sign the lease together. Do you have to sign an apartment lease in person or can they send you the applications in the mail?
It depends on the complex. I know you have to have the other person sign the “official” document so they mail it out to you and it takes alot longer but only some places even allow that. The other thing is they will run both of your credit and you will have to sign lots of other paperwork so you have to make yourself available through mail, fax, and e-mail and its a pain!
Good luck we did this so don’t panic!
I wouldn’t think so. You always have everything faxed.
They should accept a notarized copy.
Lease must signed in person. This assures the Landlord that You are who you say you are. Also you must sit and listen, comprehend, accept, and sign for all the terms of lease package. This is referred to the ‘Move-in” process. Also all rules and regulations will be explained in person. Also the lease holders must do ‘move-in’ walk-thru (inspecting and documenting the condition of your new apartment home) with the leasing agent. Keys and remotes will be assigned and transferred to the leaseholders.
Leasing Agent Phoenix.
You can send a signed application in the mail, or even by fax.
That’s how we signed our lease when we were moving to Los Angeles when one of us was still in New York.
yes, they can even fax you a copy and then you fax the signed copy back to them.
